It Was Just a Dream
As if in slow motion I watched her
As she fell to the ground from the rail
Then rushing fast I flew down the stairs
And lifting her lifeless body, I wailed.
Then I looked down, laying at my side
Curled up next to me on the bed
Her furry body lay sleeping so
I kissed her on her sweet little head.
My pulse began to settle down, now I could breathe again
As I reminded myself, it was just a dream!
