It Was Just a Dream
She takes a deep breath and starts to feel,
The light rain trickles down her cheeks.
As they slowly move between each other.
Following the flow gracefully,
Treading lightly on the steaming blacktop.
Finally, she began to think.
"I'm dancing in the rain with the love of my life"
Just like every fairy-tale.
She inhales her sweet scent;
Falling deeper and deeper in love.
As she takes one final deep breath,
She is jarred awake, the rain no longer raindrops;
But slowly racing tears staining her face,
Knowing it was all a dream.
And she's not swinging her body with hers as the fresh rain pours.
Instead, she is stuck in bed alone.
While she is in bed with him.
