It Was Always You

Now I know
that it was--

Your radiance I glimpsed 
in every earthbound smile

Your joy I sensed in every
ripple of laughter

Your embrace I've longed for
in the applause and praise

It was always You

and
Now I see
that all of it--

Your radiance,
Your joy,
Your embrace--

was there 
before I took my first step.
