It Was All Swell In the Beginning
It was all swell in the beginning.
Life was well worth the living.
We couldn’t of been more forgiving
We were all dancing and singing.
Now the glory days have disappeared
What was once friendly, now feared
After all, we have never been cleared
Of the vengeful spite that has reared.
We couldn’t have forgotten the date
That we all have to contemplate
But, for surely its not too late…
Can we still learn to appreciate?
When we are all gone from this place
And there is no one left to replace
For whence tomorrow we must face
What will become of the human race?
