It Was Agape Love

For a moment I heard a voice, no a Word I felt
This was the light, Truth and the only Way to Home and Eternity
Like a feeling I can’t fully express, an emotion overwhelming my feeble heart
A hunger for what is not food, a thirst for what was not a drink
A bond which goes beyond that of a mother and her baby
A belief which is more than what natural reasoning can fully comprehend
I saw it, I felt it, I touched it, and yes I did but only through faith made it so tangible
It was Agape Love, the Father’s Love now shown through the Son by the Holy Spirit

For a moment I wondered what a mystery to be revealed
What mattered most to me, had changed
All my earthly treasures and gains had become loses as I got into this presence of love
In it I saw a Glorious Lion changed into a poor indebted Lamb to be sacrificed
In it I saw a Sinless King changed into a sinful slave to pay for a lost world
In my tears I thought that was all, but no
I couldn’t fully comprehend with all the saints until I got to Calvary where His cross stood
I could only imagine, what a width, length, depth and height this love can be
Death couldn’t hold Him captive, this love defined His divinity
It transformed conforming sinners into holy priests and lost slaves into chosen heirs of God
It was Agape Love, the Father’s Love now shown through the Son by the Holy Spirit
