It was a good day

we are the people, the shadows in light, chasing the ghosts of a city in flight. we traded our names for a moment of grace, and lost every map to a familiar place. the stars were just sparks in a heavy gray sky, as we laughed at the truths that we used to deny. the morning is coming, cold and unkind, leaving the pulse of the neon behind. we gave what we had to the heat and the haze, lost in the rhythm of effortless days. now silence is resting where echoes once planned, it was a good night stand.
