It Starts Small

It starts so small

Is it the day that gets me this way
It starts out so small and doesn’t go away
And it doesn’t mater what I do or say
I picture you smiling like it was yesterday

So here I am again with a tear
Sitting alone feeling you near
They say it will get better and I hope it will
All I know is I love you and I need you still

I try to keep busy to fill my day
To make it through it’s the only way
So here I am laid so bare
It is the only way to know I care.

Sadness mixed with fortitude to go on. Your poem is heartbreaking yet also an inspiration, to carry on living as you know she would have wanted. Its not wrong to enjoy a bit of life now, its not disrespectful, it doesn't say I have stopped loving, I am sure she would like to see a smile form time to time. She isn't gone, her memory is still right there, A beautiful poem Paul. Best wishes.
