It Spoke To Me

As white as new linen drying
On a line on a mid summer’s day
The dove sat perfectly still
Just looking at me look back

Amazed at its qualities, its beauty
I sat and watched, trying to interpret
The meaning of it, its presence,
As it spoke to me in action

It was hope, it was peace, it was
Everything that was right with the world
For it represented the birth, new beginnings
For all men when they need it most

This bird represented love as a solid force
Not so much an action, but something to see
It was a harbinger, bringing forth to me
The meaning of each new day
