It Speaks

Severed the written word
Angry wind blows
As the scream carries emotion
The head moves to and fro
When will we heed?
What are we to hear?
Twisted and coveted
Lectured and a tender whisper
Why can’t we let it die?
Why did it lie?
A heart needs to be loved
Hearts break so softly
Ushered beyond the norm
How did we let it get this far
Was not to get this far
Why can’t we see the end of the road?
Does it have a thorn in the side?
The ache that never heals
What’s that joke that’s never spoke
See no
Hear no
Speak no
