Listen to poem:

It Happened Like This

They conquered land before habitations --
Viridiplantae or, simply, plantae.
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Until arthropods assumed their stations
(Or, perhaps, eight-legged crustaceans).
They conquered land before habitations --

Those rude, plated pests swarmed the green nations:
An ever eating, egg laying mess -- still,
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Old root fauna demanded cessations;
And, therein, they devised a cunning skill:
They conquered land before habitations --

Placate those fleshy abominations
With sexy flowers and sweet nectar treats.
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

The bugs went wild with mushroom gyrations --
Until the Vegans collected their eats....
They conquered land before habitations --
It was swell: Oxygen fungitations.

Thank you, Jan. The Vegan line bothered me to no end -- but, I finally came to an acceptable resolution.... :-)
