It Fell Like Dew

Each heart longing for a bond
Yet each to the other blind.
‘tho cut from the same wand
Like leaf to vine, intertwined.

Then begins the dance of love
To fill a hole once full of pain.
A prayer heard from above
Flooding the soul like rain.

But like a leaf it may not stay,
As the rain turns to a storm.
For destiny will have her say
When life itself will transform.

‘tho love came but once for you
For that one time it fell like dew.
