It Comes and Goes

hell comes and goes
it slips behind a thought

then
that high sprung
jack-in-the box
that grin on a spring

jumps out

i fall sick of myself
self-awareness leaks
out of a cosmic butt

it happens

you never see the trapdoor roof
of the box looming
trembling

it is then that i pray and cuss
cuss and pray

I should chase down the devil
pin him down
rip off his clown face

tell him

ever so gently

to stop bloody well
being

me
