It Cannot Be You

I rush into your arms
for vibrations of warmth and comfort

I turn my back to go my way
now the whole world knows
about my tribulations

It tells me
you're no friend
in whom I can confide

next to losing a parent, betrayal is the most difficult emotion to endure. Vulnerability is a lovely gift to present a deserving friend or lover, but when betrayal is in the mix--it makes one feel incredibly STUPID and FOOLISH...self recrimination haunts us when we trust the wrong person....you have described this emotion well, with few words...Great write!

Reading your comment I feel sort of growing as a poet, Victoria. I'll continue writing. Cheers.

It's all about engagement and exploring the art of poetry, as we cannot separate the poetry of life from the gift of living.

A bad Friend...nice and short yet it tells a story of betrayal in my understanding

Bad pals are there to hurt us. After betrayal one feels like a stranger in a world filled with uncertainties and frustrating shadows.
