Cranberry shaded leaves upon Crepe Myrtle in the fall Fig leaves change to their ripe color Now those distant birds' call It is so dry, Shikita ga Nai 'Tis the design for this time But drier than some in the past There's no reason or rhyme Or is it in God's grand design Of course, it has to be God would send rain if it were not The future is His decree Hair turned white, Shikita ga Nai Permanent color, could dye But ages' affects, I can't stop Rapture will be by and by Let snow fall upon the mountain Let crevices crinkle Let the brain and heart be wise And love's vision twinkle Shikata ga Nai

This is beautiful and encouraging for we all are lucky if we live long enough to age with gray hair and wrinkles! You will do well in the contest I believe! Good luck!

Thank you, Karen. Yes, the Bible says that living to be old is a sign of a righteous life. Mostly if we live like we should obeying God, we should live to be old, but of course, there are exceptions to that. Sometimes accidents, illnesses, etc. cut life short. Sara K

Well, I have always accepted aging and really only want to go forward and not back, but some days it seems age has taken a larger chunk out of me. Thanks for the visit. Sara K

Oh my, this is truly an enchanting poem, dear sweet Sara... You've absolutely nailed the creative aspect here and the amount of depth you've poured in every line is truly astonishing! I especially can't get enough of that ending stanza... wherein the soul is now floating with the flow and letting universe guide the way... "Let crevices crinkle let the brain and heart be wise and love's vision twinkle" Sooo beautiful throughout! Sending you light and many best wishes, now and always ~
