It Can Be Gone

As fast as the sun rises it can go down
Darkness then swallows the world
One piece of land, one sea, at a time
It is moments like that which makes one think
How precious each life is, how fragile
We must cherish every moment
We must respect and cherish every person
For they are the sunshine that keeps
Individual’s worlds alit each day and night
Look not into the darkness and see dark
See the twinkling of each person
Reach for it, grab it and hold tight
Allow not to get away, but to remain
Within the permanent view of all
