I see a tree stripped, torn, and ripped, there before me; there's a sight breeze, a tease of what it had to bear, I swear a gust of air gone mad left this debris. It feels wrong that the twister got so strong, so fast; appearing out of the blue, no one grew aware; we didn't know where it would go till the die was cast. Our town got mowed down, the pieces strewn all around, homes were blown apart; it broke my heart to be there; alone on my phone, trying to describe that sound.

Congratulations, Emile. Very moving, very emotive and I, as a reader could feel what you felt, so heart breaking. I feel for people who have to start over again caused my natural disasters. Blessings to you.

Dear emile, this is so poignant and well written for the contest. It breaks my heart too to even read about this, and i can imagine how you would have felt! So deeply moving! I especially felt “cast. Our town was mowed down; pieces were thrown all around, homes got blown apart; it broke my heart to be there; alone on my phone, trying to describe that sound” devastating! Sending you and your loved ones light always. Best wishes for the contest

This is so sad, I can feel the desolation your words can evoke. For one who has not experienced this for a while, I can commiserate. We can just say, life moves on beyond this devastation.
