Isolation By Franklin Price 03/25/2020 In the throes of covid-19, We have gone to isolation. Gone away from one another For the people of this nation This is not a normal practice This is not what humans do We're doing it to stop the spread For the health of me and you The spread of covid-19 Happens when we're face to face When we're close to one another When we're in a crowded place If in that crowd, there's coughing Or we touch another's hand We can get it or can give it To spread it farther in the land Coronavirus, a destroyer Of older people, who are ill. Those with breathing troubles, Are the ones it wants to kill. Not all of them are older But mostly fifty years or more Could be your nanny or your papa Looking at death's final door. So hunker down and isolate Let the virus pass you by Don't get it, and don't give it Covid's not the way to die When this war is over And the battles in it through Be one, who followed orders, And did the most that you could do Hang in there, this will not be forever
