Isn'T There a Place

Will there be non-existence
for you and me?

It savages the mind to have no being
to dreamless sleep alone foreseeing.

Shouldn't something of us survive
in rock or rain or moonlit tide?

Were we made to be passed through
setting aside all we knew?

Isn't there a place in universes endless
to which an act of mercy can send us?

Is our destiny really dust?
"No," answers a voice I fervently trust.

There might be an utopian dream land somewhere where the pure and innocents are rewarded and in the last line in the wonderful poem, it ends with a tinct of hope there might be a place somewhere, may be latent, but it still exists, I like the poems which shows great reflection and simultaneously has a tone of hope, thereby optimistic. Thanks for another splendid share Paul.... Hugs

I treasure supportive words from you, Silpika. There are heady times when I imagine I am truly a poet, and then I read your work, and plunge back to earth. You are astonishly excellent . . .superb. Hugs, Paul

Hi, Connie. Your photo always makes me smile, and your words always make me marvel. I'm pleased you enjoyed my poem. I'm OK, thank you, but I'm learning that there's nothing golden about old age. Still I cannot complain. Hugs, Paul

I Would remind all (has my face not worn a mask) For over 10 years? So for those who have Viewed my page (then He showed you a sign) Yet you are still you.' I Don't think you are mad' Do others.? Who knows? what's important here Is God's standpoint.'

Hello Paul ... your couplet certainly had me musing also. If humanity does become extinct what or who will the next be to step up - thank you Paul - Lindsay

Good question, Lindsay. I suppose some all-knowing creature would evolve, though it would take a couple billion years. * * * I hope you and your loved ones are staying well and avoiding all the "bugs." Hugs, Paul
