Isaiah 5:20

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” In the uncertain tumultuous times of ours we’ve radically reversed what we perceive, not because of sensual distortion, but of overturn. The moral mirror hasn’t really broken, it has been purposely rotated away from us. Woe is the epitome of sadness of God who sees people rejoice at their own ruination. It’s our ominous and frightening times when the needle of the moral compass turns forcefully to show the wrong direction. We drift off-course into the wilderness, not because the right path has disappeared, but because we’ve destroyed the route plan, asserting that the wasteland has morphed into a garden. When the evil of cruelty is defined as virtuous strength, something more profound than conduct moves away from the righteous innate arena of the embedded ethics, compromising the moral fabric that disintegrates. In the current social cultural scenario of confusion when the darkness of contrived conscience inherently conceals the value system, the insightful light of coherent awareness extinguishes by itself in utter resentment. The concept of truth then becomes harsh exposition, turning into a threat to social construct, letting the sense of sin eventually putrefy the ethical palate. The life-nourishing constituents of moderation taste fetid, while the noxious greed is cherished like nectar. Modern society endures the external threat of perilous times, much longer than the disintegrating internal corruption. When all the moral standards decay and the candid convictions corrode, convivial community structure shatters, the destined time of collapse of the honest ideals into the abyss of disarray isn’t very far away. Yet, entrenched in the caveat lingers the hope of revival.
