sometimes i wonder if i’m sinking to a new low i see you gone to faraway lands somewhere in your head and until you remember to fly home to me i can’t help but feel it’s nothing but illusion that i see or hear you at all meanwhile rotting fruit spoil the basket and i wonder if this year’s crop will go to waste if this indeed is as good as it gets AP: Honorable Mention 2024, Honorable Mentnion 2023 Posted on March 27, 2023

This is such a sad one Line. I liked the way you spoke of the rotting fruit in reference to the passage of time. It does have the effect of bringing out a strong emotional reaction to the reader.

Poetry can evoke so many emotions. You communicate emotions that have a deep place inside the soul Line and I defy any reader who cannot feel your pain and loss through your words. Your poem is touching - yet beautifully so. Cheers - Gary
