Is There a God

Is there a God?
I say no,
all the disease and war tell me so.
If there is a God,
why is he so mean,
to put mankind through all that has been.

Why do people believe in a deity?
Is it madness?
The sense in it evades me.
Why now  in this modern time
do people believe in something akin
to a nursery rhyme?

Is there a God?
I'd like to know,
Do you have any proof
that you can show?
