Is My Name In the Book of Life
I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” Isa 61:10 NIV
“He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white, I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.“ Rev 3:5 NIV
In the Lord’s Book of Life—
Will I find my name?
I have not valued gold,
Or even worldly fame.
But that is no guarantee,
My name will be found.
For I must be an over comer—
May my name in that Book be bound.
In the Lord’s Book of Life
Are those who are saved.
Those who’ve been judged;
Righteousness they’ve craved.
So because I’ve pleaded,
With righteousness to cover me,
With my Lord’s robe of righteousness,
Eternal life I’ll see.
Is my name written there?
I believe by faith alone,
That God in His goodness;
Sits on his heavenly throne.
He has answered my prayers
That I might be forgiven,
Covered by His righteousness;
By His Spirit driven.
To be an over comer
Is the prime prerequisite,
But only heavenly power can enable
All evil to forfeit.
Only my Lord can cover—
My sins of rebellion;
Include me in the Book of Life
Because I’ve been forgiven.
