Is It Too Late

it looks like we are coming to blows
its been brewing for a long time God knows
you don't like me, I don't understand you
no matter what you say, no matter what I do

looking for a reason to be mad
this human race can be so bad
the problem is no respect
and there is no going back I suspect

when is America going to learn
are we past the point of no return
is it too late
to remember what made us great

is it too hard to say I love you
and you love me too
can you lend a hand 
to your brother man

we can be better people we know it
we can fix this but wont show it
but sadly it is true
most people don't want to

I think that the rift in the country is exacerbated greatly by the media... i.e., it's not too late for the vast majority of us. Were the media to report that which didn't fit its ideological narrative of 'system racism' and/or more positive stories, America would be singing a different tune. People haven't changed that much!! Who decided it was appropriate to end a persons career and destroy their life for using a racial slur? I think everybody deserves a second chance.
