Is It Too Late

it looks like we are coming to blows
its been brewing for a long time God knows
you don't like me, I don't understand you
no matter what you say, no matter what I do

looking for a reason to be mad
this human race can be so bad
the problem is no respect
and there is no going back I suspect

when is America going to learn
are we past the point of no return
is it too late
to remember what made us great

is it too hard to say I love you
and you love me too
can you lend a hand
to your brother man

we can be better people we know it
we can fix this but wont show it
but sadly it is true
most people don't want to

It is so sad to see all this happening. Much truth in your poem. Sending you love :)

It's never too late to change, but everyone needs to put their differences aside and work together. Tom

I agree Tom, the problem with history is it seems to repeat itself. People don't get it.

Hello Timothy … I'd like to think it's never too late, but at this time we appear to be going through a hate and misery state of despair. There's huge pressure on wage earners to supply a bloated public service and the media in a quest for news stir up the public - a poem for today Timothy - Lindsay

You are absolutely right. It is all about money, selling ads and tele time. Even the rioters just want free stuff. It has nothing to do with racism.

Terrific 'thought-provoker,' Timothy... I think that the rift in the country is exacerbated greatly by the media... i.e., it's not too late for the vast majority of us. Were the media to report that which didn't fit its ideological narrative of 'system racism' and/or more positive stories, America would be singing a different tune. People haven't changed that much!! Thanks, Gershon and his one cent's worth

True Gershon, the media wants breaking news stories to sell tv time, Its all about the money, politics and fear of being blacklisted by the media. Who decided it was appropriate to end a persons career and destroy their life for using a racial slur? I think everybody deserves a second chance.
