I's and Eyes
I’s and Eyes
As my child would reach the age of four
the english language was a funny chore
He never used the pronoun I
His Me want, Me like made me sigh
And then one day I called him to me
and spoke to him with sincerity
To emphasize, my finger pressed his chest
To choose the words that I thought best
Billy, my kid, don’t say me, say I
Curious he looked down below and said
But that’s my button, not my eye!
