I's and Eyes

I’s and Eyes As my child would reach the age of four the english language was a funny chore He never used the pronoun I His Me want, Me like made me sigh And then one day I called him to me and spoke to him with sincerity To emphasize, my finger pressed his chest To choose the words that I thought best Billy, my kid, don’t say me, say I Curious he looked down below and said But that’s my button, not my eye! Kids still say the darnedest things. I love their logic so straight forward. Hard for us as adults to understand. We have complicated things so much. Enjoyed immensely.

Kids are so innocent and literal. They say the cutest things. I read your poem leaving me with a big smile.

That's a fun poem, Ralph. I like the fifth line the best. Can relate to the whole story.
