religious fundamentalism has become the plague of our times
defeating the purpose for which the scriptures were written
all paths reach love, kindness, gentleness and caring
as a child we each were born with these attributes
but somewhere along the way we went astray
so we ask: whose god is the one and only true god
tempers flare, bitter words exchanged, blood is spilled
irony of course being none have seen the god they worship
because if they had, their heart would radiate love, light and bliss
