Author's Notes: "Irish Nectar of the Sun Goddess," is a Quatrain write that I had co-authored with my colleague, Liam McDaid, during early January, 2017. Liam posted this wonderful fantasy write first on Poetry Soup on January 17, 2017. This fantasy tale was created by both of us in celebration of the mythic "Sun Goddess" that is part of and celebrated in ancient Celtic lore. In case anyone missed the first posting of this fascinating tale, here it is again. (Gary Bateman - March 6, 2017) (Quatrain)

Irish Nectar of the Sun Goddess This mystical aura of golden radiant sunbeams so sublime With a warm mead laying lovely below its enchanted neck, Is breathless releasing gasps of white-hot-fire breaths now, All spiritual within one and a thousand sighs, it whistles too. Brightly your radiance shines through the deep blue oceans Where rainbows are misted with shades inside a desire born, With curtains falling—revealing a beauty spot held precious, Whilst in your heart glows warmly a true love priceless pure. A royal crown bestoweth upon thine mantel of soft ‘n purest silk, Now spangled as dewdrops glisten brightest on mirrored slippers, As a divine swan upon one wave began dancing on joyous ripples, An old Irish jig played on in this moment dancing you and I, as two. The Merry Old Leprechaun looked on with his wee-soft eye twinkle As the Sun Goddess giveth her divine breath to this sacred harvest; Now to beareth the sweetest of fruit with warmest rays of gentleness, So all can shareth this grandest garden moment of holy eternal glory. We all shall now, forever and ever, prosper in this heavenly abundance Whilst we sheddeth a most wee-curious light into this eternal paradise, As you and I, and the Merry Old Leprechaun shareth a passion so true, We drinketh gladly the sweet ‘n stout Irish Nectar of the Sun Goddess! My Irish roots came from my father's side. There Irish/English/Dutch. Mother's side, Native American, German, Danish, Norwegian, /Viking. Thanks, tis always a pleasure for me to co-write with others.. Each poet that I've written with inspired me to improve and each was a great influence ... I try my best not to disappoint any of my collaborators my friend. If I have, I offer my sincere apologies, as such has never been deliberate on my part.

Thanks Robert!! Really appreciate your comments here on behalf of both Liam and myself. It's really great to heart also that you have "Irish Roots" too!! My father's last name, "Bateman," is an English name, and his distant relative came from England. However, my Irish connection comes from my mother's family under their name "Heflin," and my mother's distant relatives immigrated to the USA (as far as we know) during the infamous "Potato Famine" in the 19th century. BTW, thanks too for the 7/FAV. I will let Liam know. I really enjoyed Robert the sonnet that you and TJ authored together. Some really top-drawer work indeed!! Best Wishes from Ingrid and me to you and your family!! Cheers, Gary

Hello Mike!! Thanks for your wonderful words on behalf of both Liam and me!! I know that both of us are quite happy to receive your read and very timely comments. (I'll be in touch too in the future as I'm nearing completion of a second novella for my upcoming second book under the title: "The Devil's Playground." I think you will find it very interesting. It will be roughly the same length as the first one from last year: "The Secret World of Evil.") I'll drop you a line here in the near future Mike. I always look forward to reading your wonderful poetry too!! Cheers and Best, Gary

Methinks you're spot on there Mate!! Being an American with native Irish roots means I always like to have a nip-of-the-ole Bud whenever I can. Liam and I have written a few others with that very intent. One of my older poems: "Leprechaun in My Bottle" (posted in Poetry Soup and later appearing in my first book of poetry) attests basically to the same thing. I will drop by to check out your latest works. Always my great pleasure to hear from you Jerry. Best Wishes Always, Gary

Hello Dear Anne-Lise!! Thanks for the vote of confidence here for both Liam and me on this particular work!! And thanks!! too for the 7 +FAV!! (Liam and I did actually talk about this one for a while. Since he's full-Irish by birth and I'm only half-Irish by ancestry, it was actually Liam's idea of the Sun Goddess. He has a devout knowledge of Celtic folklore for sure!!) One never knows how poems like this will be received because of their specialty nature. I'll make sure Liam sees your great comment here!! Cheers and Best Wishes, Gary

Hello Tim!! Great to hear from you!! Thanks for your kind words and the top rating. I know I'm very pleased, as I know that Liam would be too that you enjoyed this particular Celtic narrative. (I'm still working to post poetry whenever I can, as time permits, based on the prose writes and second novella I'm working on for my next book. Once this is all done, I should be back more into the poetry mainstream.) Cheers and Best Wishes, Gary
