Iowa Family Reunion

Anyone not in a pick-up truck at least better have a hound. If you don’t have a hound, you’d better be carrying a shotgun. It is ho-down hills days, and we are meeting for our annual barbeque. Most of the trucks have been out mudding; they are caked. We award the Mudding King his corndog sandwich with baked beans. Corn queen comes along with her machete, showing detasseling skills. Scavenger hunt to look for Great Uncle Jim's dentures begins at nine. Nothing like an Iowa family reunion.

I cannot relate to any of this, Caren, but I loved reading about it…

Thank you Ilene; if you grew up in small town Iowa you would understand it completely and there would be mud all over your truck, you would have a gun rack with rifles behind your head, and an ole hound dog would be slurping on the knee of your jeans. Come on down!

LOL…I love this! I miss the old-days reunions but alas life goes forward and we must love our kids and theirs and help create their memories too. Kisses and hugs.
