Invisible Wings
I have these beautiful wings
Shining brightly in the sun's rays
That glisten and glow
Like the stars above
That twinkle in the night.
They change colors
Like a living mood ring
Depicting the emotions
That flows through me.
Taking on a variety of shapes
That only my imagination
Can shape them into
What I wish them to be.
They can stretch like rubber
They wrap around me
To become a shield
Keeping the chaos
From piercing
Through my barrier.
My wings can become
What I wish them to be
But can anyone see them?
Can they see their beauty?
Can they see what I see?
No, they can't see them.
They only see a weird girl
That stands out from the crowd
Expressing her quirks
In her own way.
Why can't they see
What I can see?
Why won't they acknowledge
My wings that I bear?
Why don't they see them?
Do they only acknowledge
My wings as transparent?
Do they not have the sight
To see my true form?
This girl has magnificent wings
She wants the world to know
Take to the sky with head held high
Spread my wings to reveal their beauty
Make my invisible wings known to all
Let them know I'm not afraid to be me.
