Invisible Love
His warm breath caresses my face
As his fingertips gently brush through my hair
I stare into the eyes of the man I loved for so long and feel safe
Secure
I look into his eyes searching for the answers to the many questions that swim in
my mind
He softly kisses my lips
As if to say I know and everything will be fine
Tears fill my eyes and stream down my cheeks
He brushes them away
Kissing them one by one
Holding me tighter, pulling me closer
No verbal words have been spoken yet we are having the most intense
conversation
My tears cease
My mind calms
Sleep begins to overcome me
Before I drift completely to sleep
I reach to see if he is still there and smile when I realize he is
I kiss his hands and wrap them around me
I can no longer fight the battle and sleep finally conquers me and wins
I dream of this man
This beautiful man at times I don’t deserve
The man that took me so long to find
And now he is all mines
My eyes flutter open and I smile lazily and reach for him
Cold space greets my searching hands
Fully awake I frantically search for him but he doesn’t appear
Reality sets in
Why can’t I find him?
Cause he was never there
