Invisible Eyes

Fear creeped into my dreams last night
He took on a faceless form
A shadow in the dark
He signed his name across my eyes
Shifting known forms into creatures
That made a cold climb up my spine
I searched the room
Feeling as if something stared at me with cruel intent
Shaken enough to curl into my blankets and hide
my muscles tense and my shoulders rigid
Fear claimed his victory with a smile
Slowly I drifted back to sleep
My dreams carrying me into oblivion
Fast paced as I tried
To outrun whatever seed he planted into my mind
Calm and calculated I seemed to outsmart his plan and relax
and then, I woke up with a jump
Searching the room - for fear of invisible eyes
I shivered almost as if I could hear him chuckle
At his victory over me
This awakening said "You cant outrun me"
I am determined to prove him wrong

:) I agree and thank you for your visits as well. I realized there had somehow been a spelling error here lol. I fixed it. This was written the one night when, a being/force/ghost, whatever, had decided to keep me up.

I lived in a haunted house at the time, and some nights I would feel something watching me, though there was never anything physical to see. On this particular night, it felt foreboding. Dangerous and cruel, to the point where it even interrupted my dreams with fear.
