Intoxicated Shadows

Life,
carried away by intoxication.

But that evening,
it seemed to have waned.

Thoughts crept into
my relaxed mind -
that I should not have done those
that I should have done these.

Yet still I waver, I doubt :
Am I sober now, or drunk ?

Alcohol does not solve problems. Prayer does. A deep poem.

The poem seems influenced by Harivanch Rai Bachan's poem Madhusala

An interesting poem with a good lesson. Alcohol makes decision making difficult. I like the rhetorical question.

We all have doubts about our actions during a day, but trust in the Lord and lean not on your own understanding, be not wise in your own eyes and God will guide your path. Sara K
