Into Theveil

The season of their loving

    hung in the warm glow

enjoined by streams

       under

canopies of green

he extended his hand

        asking her into eternity

not wanting to lose her

    to reveries

and fading memories

he knew that his time had come

     he promised her

there was nothing to fear

he beckoned

as flesh and bone

  were shed like snake skin

thinning

..the veil peeled away

....karma had not finished with her

lifting her hand in the dark

she felt his fingers slipping away

what she could not yet do..

he was now on the other side

...she chose not to follow him through

dark mists round blue archways closed

  ...another world briefly exposed

she glimpsed his face one last time

pleading for her to follow

...to leave behind space and time

reveries hold his face

she is a heartbeat with half a soul

 ...she let him go

    ....soon to follow

life was not hers to give

  .....but after all

time is only relative
