Into the Night

In the shadows of the night
faintly first then so plain
I heard you crying,
I felt your pain

Beasts dwelling within the swamp
were clawing their way toward you
a victim of the minds trickery
a lie so bold should never been told

Creeping into the veins of your vanity
gently at first slowly possessing
captured you, your mind and body
taking you farther away from your dreams

Another path you could have taken
but your new found freedom could not wait
curious, and excited you would drift
away from the light into the night
