Into Shadow

Dark winter roads…
Dare I walk again
Their dream-like state,
With snowy pines above,
And below…
Shadow

Pregnant with memory,
My heart heaves,
Almost bursting,
As I walk deeper,
Sinking deeper…
Into snow

I wonder…
Beneath this beautiful hell,
Will your spirit find me
Among the trees that beg
A place to one day rest…
My soul.
