Interlude

Within these walls I sit alone Clouds outside my open window Cloaked in silence a tall church steeple An unnatural droning silence hovers As if the world out there Is waiting along with me We haven’t figured out quite why I’m sensing the pressure that A decision might need to be made Or a next step taken unless… I’m just recharging for the next chapter In any case the silence Is somewhat rather soothing Utterly surreal Time may have stepped aside And forgotten me in limbo In the overlap between winter and spring As we all wait for the return of songbirds And the rising of an invigorating sun The world is still asleep And I’m the only one awake It’s uncanny but I don’t want it to stop This unfamiliar feeling of suspense An interlude in this crazy race called life AP: Honorable Mention 2020 Posted on April 20, 2019

Beautifully penned; it is a crazy race, this life but, in those moments in nature and alone in the silence it is priceless. Well done.
