INTENT & IMPACT

He was caught off guard by the
perfect pitch of a piercing flute
in a rolling cloud of pounding
percussion – a provocative sound that
resembled The Lord in chaotic creation
and reminded him of times in the uncertain
rhythms of the fullness of life when, lost
in the momentum of earnest intent, he had
run through his days with the competing 
identities of predator and prey, somehow 
caught in the chasm between fighting and
flight, running wild and determined, often out
of control, always into the wind, but defining
good moments that, as small as they were, 
had been all that he had, and had 
mattered to some
