Insufficiency

I am all that I can be
Yet, it doesn’t seem to be,
Enough for you 
Or the rest of the world
I don’t seem to please you
Or even satisfy your needs
Yet, I’m still here, to my own surprise
And in my attempts to provide
I feel so ostracized
So isolated and so set aside
Yes, it hurts my pride
It’s hard to admit, but I’ve cried
Wept in confinement, because you were not my sanctuary-
Though you should have been
Then again, maybe I,
Put too much faith in you
Because clearly the only one on your mind is you
So I guess I’m the fool,
And you were smart as hell,
Because we were both in love,
But I was the only one that fell…
