I was late for the contest, but I wrote one nonetheless, because I felt inspired. Don't know how this fared, but you penned a beauty here. Haiku should always have that "a-ha moment", and your third line did that for me. It implies a stopping point on a journey, and then the northern lights pop up, while filling canteens. Or, if you wish to be more metaphorical, "we" are the empty vessels ... and the beauty of nature fills us up. A fave for me. Great haiku!
