Premiere Contest WinnerInspired by Water Serpents I by Klimt

suckled into gentle sleep
   softness
 finessed
      understood
waves lap
           cares drift
   seaweed untangles

     lets us be

each grain of sand fits together
          creating dunes
        that follow curves
     nestled in sub-aquatic embrace
      hearts beat effortlessly in sync

     ~ sirens sound asleep ~

       undisturbed in undulating waters
    oblivious to shipwrecks or sailors
songs sung and days work done

Have you listened to this new song now trending " let me be" its really catchy, n i cant help but hear it as i read this mythical and magical poem woven with such brilliant lines! I love the sound of your rhythmic diction, and how youv also in a subtle manner woven alliterations! The ending! Ah! How tropical and also i must say you really did grasp little elements in the artpiece and delivered one worthy of a printout, and framing! Pleasure reading! Fave ofcrze!!!

Ahh no new songs pass my ears, I have every device on silent :0 nice to find my poem created an aural connection though :) haha think the last thing that was displayed of mine was a Father Christmas I made at school when I was 5, my Nanna put it up every year til I was about 14 :) - just remembered that's not true, a couple of my friends showed me art and poetry they have up in their office from me! Omg - that just opened the doors to me remembering all the people who have told me years later about how they still have things I made <3 ha I'm having a moment now remembering loads of lovely things! Thank you for the sweet comment and fave

(Seaweed untangles) wow! The imagery in that line alone is so powerful; Siren’s sound asleep (a revelation in itself) yet again another beautifully interpreted Ekphrasis that keeps giving, even after the days work is done, cheers David

I have a selection of my poems that work for me like micro meditations - I wonder if this appeared on a poster for a lunchtime mindfulness session whether I'd throw caution to the wind and snuggle up with the sirens - they seem to know how to take a rest break lol thanks for the comment - I do enjoy a "wow!" :)

Aww thanks Tom - that's lovely feedback :) I do try and pull on the emotion and hope to pull the reader a little further into the painting :)
