Inspirational Quotes

“You can never cross the ocean until you have
the courage to lose sight of the shore."
                   ~ Christopher Columbus

Courage, as a double-edged sword,
There is no way, from start to end,
Your path will be an easy one
On which you can firmly depend.

Your plan includes a goal, for sure,
Yet sometimes one you've never seen.
Great courage relies on your faith
If there's no anchor in between.

Must travel blind to reach your goal.
There's no salvation on the way.
And just plain courage leads you on;
Your inner vision's there to stay.

This faith alone can keep you whole,
And you'll go on to meet your goal.
"Courage will help you find your shore-
You cannot ask for any more."

Sandra, I like the way you gently present reality in your poem. I also love the way you bring out how unexpected goals come up in life. We travel on. We adapt with change and sometimes this calls for courage. Your closing words remind me that we need to appreciate the courage we have "you cannot ask for anymore" It feels like a very humble and grounded phrase. Thank you for sharing your wisdom in the contest with this lovely poem 😉🌸
