Inspiration

Inspiration is fleeting
Never there when you need it
Grab it fast when you see it
Soon it will be gone.

Yes, it does bear repeating
It won’t stay though you feed it
So you may as well free it
And watch it fly on…

Love will come when you’re going
Fade out before you know it
You can never decode it
We don’t understand

It’s a matter of growing
And we live just below it
There’s no way to reload it
Not ours to command.

It’s all imaginary
Or so they will all tell you
The cards that life has dealt you
Will win you the pot.

And although it seems scary
And just meant to repel you
The correct words will melt you
Untie every knot.
