Insomniac Eyes

The canvas of my mind Is clouded by The foggy haze Of insomniac eyes My once rational Thoughts becoming More disjointed. My tired soul aches while Searching for peace, it’s been looking For since the day it was born. The bags under my insomniac eyes Are the constant reminder Your work isn’t done. You still have to be a parent,a care giver, a housekeeper,a chef, lawn care guru, wonder women with a super man smile and the catchphrase ”OF COARSE I CAN DO THAT” and the good old back up”I’VE GOT THIS” The backs of my eyelids look so comfortable as I stare into the abyss of darkness I can never fully reach.

An accurate depiction of what many mothers and fathers experience as they raise their children and eventually serve as caregivers to their parents and other loved ones. Well done, Jessica.
