Insomnia

My thoughs are running wild
I'm trapped in a moment in time
When were we young and in love
I recall your masculine voice
I recall your gentle and loving touch
I'm abandoned in yesterday
I live in the memories we made
You are constantly on my mind
Your touch lingers on my skin
I can feel the ghost of yesterday's kiss
Baby my mind won't let me rest
How can I sleep without you beside me

I can relate to this passionate piece Alexis. You walk around like a zombie during the day for lack of sleep when the mind won't shut off. An excellent expression of emotional trauma caused by loss. 7 ; )

This poem is a firecracker, Alexis. It's popping hot. The passion is palpable ... you can almost touch the sweat on your skin w/this fiery poem. Very passionate write, it's clearly on the cool side of life. Love this poem though. It's a fave for sure. Love and peace to you always.

When one side of the bed is empty except for the memories of the one who used to occupy it, it definitely is difficult to sleep. Nicely expressed longing and missing someone Alexis. So sadly beautiful.
