Insecurity Alert

The clock is ticking
one, two, three
my heart is beating
one, two, three…

if only my thoughts
would tick
like the clock
or perhaps beat
like my heart…

I wish it was not stagnant,
in one place,
immovable

I should not fear
being on my own
I should not be scared
of my thoughts…

if only I had the comfort
of knowing
what’s going to happen

why do I allow fear
to keep me in bondage,
prevent me from living

I have lost control
giving into doubts
second guessing my every move

this is not me
this is not what I planned
I never intended to
doubt my abilities or my strength

bring back the yesterdays
when there were no questions
when there were no doubts
and no fear…

Congrats Wilma, on "Insecurity Alert" being featured. May be a sign of artistic genius. Michaelangelo, VanGogh, And many of the great poets were insecure at times. God Bless. Vince

overcome it. I sense a lot of strength and a very beautiful heart and soul in you. Stay strong inside for those you love. That strength is all that is real in this life. Everything else is just an illusion that changes with hands of time. YF4L, God Bless, mj Ps. I would be honored for you to share my poems with others

Wilma, the reason we have these things plague our minds is the fact it's the only place the devil can attack us from, our minds. My first day at college I almost walked out, because, I was certain I would fail. I just finished my first year with a 4.0 and award for "Excellence in Writing." More importantly I met so many wonderful people and was able to help the youngsters (We held study groups at my home) who were on the border of giving up. Our weakest point is our greatest strength once we
