Insecurity Alert
The clock is ticking
one, two, three
my heart is beating
one, two, three…
if only my thoughts
would tick
like the clock
or perhaps beat
like my heart…
I wish it was not stagnant,
in one place,
immovable
I should not fear
being on my own
I should not be scared
of my thoughts…
if only I had the comfort
of knowing
what’s going to happen
why do I allow fear
to keep me in bondage,
prevent me from living
I have lost control
giving into doubts
second guessing my every move
this is not me
this is not what I planned
I never intended to
doubt my abilities or my strength
bring back the yesterdays
when there were no questions
when there were no doubts
and no fear…
