Insecure's Game

Big head; slimmed shape
                                  Short-legged; fat belly
                          Out of proportion; feeling crumpy
                               A man uncertain of "BEAUTY".

Out of envy, he pulls down
                        Other success, brings him disgrace
                  Reputation's ruined when someone's able
Crabs in the bucket towards their "ACHIEVEMENT".

Brought into life with no posession
                                  While others have gold
                        Punished to hunger and discomfort
When others plenty with no effort
Always dreaming of that, "one day"
                                    But lazy and untimely
                                Annoyed with other's gain
                                He killed due to "WEALTH".

Are you deprived of a life?
                               You're anxious at all times
Clouded by doubts; rejection by the crowd.

                               If you're equal with anyone
                                With body, soul and mind
                              Time to feel something good
Cultivate a new self and a future.

So well phrased and written. The poem's message reminds of words from an old Joni Mitchell song: "You know the times you impress me most are the time you don't try." Mark

Envy brings nothing but ruin. No wonder it belongs to the seven deadly sins. Great piece, Arden. :)

You're very right, Jake! With insecurities and envy, the end-result will always be destruction to one self and to others! We just have to be proud of their success at all times and be nice to everyone! Bless you my friend! Love, love, love! :-) - Den

A reason to feel insecure is a reason to lose hope and a future. We're created distinct to one another! We have something that others dont. We should always look on what we have for us to feel that we, too, are blessed. There's a lot of reason to celebrate about ourselves. Love, love, love! :-)
