Insecticide

It’s you I see from the fluttering wings of the butterfly, How your colours in it’s tireless flitting, Could not steady itself, It’s you I see, from the rapid wings of a dragonfly, Transparency lost in a blur of paleness, And hollow veins I don’t feel it initially, the same way a leech anaesthetizes, Sucking blood when knee-deep in silent, murky waters, Your emotional vampirism I hear you from the screeching of the cicada at night, The darkness of your words and accusations, Muting all that is rational I hear you from the hyper winging mosquito outside my ears, A big bang of buzzing akin to your nasal snorts, Irritating all my senses furiously I know you scurry away from the light of my convictions, Like a cockroach running away from light turned on, Nosy antennae and all I pity the fly that arose from excreta and rot, For there it settled on your vain skin, One speck of a moment I knew now why the mantis severed it’s lover’s head, It was a woman after all, There IT lies now, a nonentity, No longer twitching, The final spasm over… There IT lies now, Crunched under my hard feet!!!
