Sonnet
Fourteen lines 10 syllables per line with a typical... abab cdcd efef gg rhyming scheme.

Leonardo da Vinci felt flying was possible, sketching wings in detail. And the fact that birds flew kept him trying, even when all of his efforts would fail. An artist and a brilliant engineer, he designed dreams drawn by his gifted pen. But his passion for flying was sincere, although that goal eluded him back then. All his life, he invented contraptions designed to unlock the secrets of flight. And his alterations and adaptions haunted his inquisitive dreams at night. For despite how much one may desire it, some indulgences fate will not permit. (Sonnet) 6/28/2021

Dear Emile, I absolutely loved reading your poem however I am afraid that I can't place it in the contest because the instructions mentioned it very clearly that the poem was suppose to be of a personal nature depicting your own broken dream. The reason that I am commenting on it is because it was such a nice poem and I felt bad for disqualifying it. Hope you are okay with it. Good luck

A good one, Emile. I had a lot of difficult thinking of da Vinci as a broken person, but I suppose he was...in this sense. Good writing as always, my friend.
