Innocence Lost

I had felt it for a moment.
An old familiar feeling;
Long ago, believed, never to return.
Innocence, amazement, wonder, joy, hope,
I was lost in you.

I asked for your honesty.
You shared your pain.
I felt it.
I wanted to save you.
You were real.

I gave my honesty.
I shared my pain.
Did you feel it?
Would you save me?
I am real.

As quickly as it came,
That old familiar feeling, disappeared.
And now I'm left wondering.
Was it real?
Were you real?
Where have you gone?
Where am I?
I'm still lost in you.
