Inner Thoughts
As I lay here awake my head is still reeling
It’s hard to describe just what I am feeling
I look into my heart and think why it is so
It can be quite hard sometimes to let it go
I am thinking now how my mind spins
Life takes a hold and no one wins
Deep dark thoughts drifting through
I know its depression and that won’t do
Nothing hurts as much as life itself
Gaining from past conquests and wealth
Years gone by and a future yet to be
Who knows what is in store for me
My feelings lift and the cloud disperses
My heart is now filled with songs and verses
Sunshine fills my body with pleasure
My life is a real and wonderful treasure
Situations that make me smile or cry
Who am I to question why?
Just listening to my feelings inside
That’s where my thoughts stay and hide
