Inner Struggle

Inner Struggle

is it the stars
on a cloak of midnight blue
or the moon beams
dancing through the canopy
that eases reality’s view?

the reflection
in the window pane
begs answer
for it’s tears, not rain,
that stream on the glass

silent cascades
bare the resistance
of approval
prayerfully awaiting
the dawning acceptance

Soulful solitary solace in every word. Your heart has spoken and we have heard. Wake up now to embrace the day. The stars and moonbeams have now given way. Peace. :)

very nicely done, Debra. And I like how you did not worry about syllable count with this modern Tanka set.

You had me at "midnight blue". That's my favorite color. The setting for these lines are very graceful.
